Just Go With It! Sure!

http://www.justgowithit-movie.com/

Here comes another Happy Madison Production! But, before you rush out expecting to see the theatrics that are typically found in many of its beloved movies, this is not the case.   Yes, the gang is all back and making their mark from the Director, to your favorite SNL stars and of course, our wacky HMP regulars that I now just call the "guys".   This movie starts out with your classic Adam Sandleresque comedy, but quickly shifts direction with its addition of Jennifer Aniston.  Directed by Denise Dugan, a frequent contributor in Adam Sandler's movies does a good job with this romcom! It's corky, a little over the top, but balanced enough to keep your interest and get some sincere laughs.

A lot of times, I feel cheated when movie makers try too hard and force comedy to get laughs and unfortunately, in the last Adam Sandler movie they did just that in Grown-Ups, also directed by Dennis Dugan.  So, I got worried during the first five to ten minutes of the movie and thought, uh-oh, repeat comedy foul but, honestly as soon as it switched directions and focused on Jen and Adam it made all the difference.   I'm not a big Jennifer Aniston fan and didn't quite know how well she would fit as a leading lady for Mr. Sandler, but it worked.  She brought balance to the movie and good for the HPM gang cause this movie could have gone terribly wrong.

So, the premise behind Just Go With It is finding the "one".  Adam Sandler plays a slightly more mature role as an established Los Angeles, commitment phobic, Plastic Surgeon.  One night, after a sandy beach romp he feels he may have found the girl of his dreams.  The girl,  a just out of college, twenty-three year old math teacher is played by Brooklyn Decker. When she finds out Adam is married well, all hell breaks loose and a web of lies ensue which traps his long time office assistant, played by Jennifer Aniston, into helping him.

I don't want to give away too much of the movie so, let's just say after the "staple" dressing room scene and slow mos you tend to see, the movie migrates to Hawaii and takes off from there.   A few surprise showbizers find their way into the storyline.  Like Nicole Kidman and Dave Matthews.  Tip:  Watch out for the coconut scene!  Did that really happen?!?!  lol, awkward. Nick Swardon, you may not recognize his name, but you will recognize him.  Especially, after this supporting role as Dolf Lundgren a German Sheep Herder, too much!!  The kids roles are typical, annoying and cute all at the same time. Finally, since the movie was filmed in Hawaii this is a perfect reason to take your clothes off, right?  So, if you get to thinking that your watching part of the swim suit addition of Sports Illustrated, well you wouldn't be too far off.  Brooklyn Decker was the host of the Sports Illustrated made for t.v. movie and she's my new skinime!!! :). But, I have to hand it to Ms. Aniston for keeping it real.  She rocks her forty something body on screen and sure to make someone jealous!  You go girl!   So, guys there is plenty of eye candy in this movie and mixed with Adam Sandler humor, it's not too bad. This is a cute date movie or matinee. Oh and since Valentine's is coming up, this might be a good choice for you guys.  But, remember take your date to the movie first so you will have something to talk about over dinner, o.k.?!   Any hoo, go see it!

Reelchick  gives it three reels.   This is not a rush to go see movie,  but you'll be surprisingly entertained.
